Granting Customers Booking Portal access

You must grant access to any account customer that wishes to use the Customer Booking Portal.

Instructions

  1. Within topbox navigate to Setup > Customers > select Customer > Booking Contacts.

  2. Click Add Contact. Note that if the contact already exists click the pencil icon to edit.

  3. Enter the customer's Name, Email and Phone.

  4. Enable Portal User:

  • Portal User: Enable this option to grant Customer Booking Portal access to the contact.

  • Booking Permissions: Enable this option to allow the contact to create bookings in the Customer Booking Portal.

  • Tracking Permissions: Enable this option to allow the contact to track bookings via a Control screen in the Customer Booking Portal. This permission is applied automatically with Booking Permissions. It is possible to de-select Booking Permissions, so that the customer can track bookings, but not create them.

  1. Click Save Contact.

  2. Back on the Manage Customer screen click Save.

Note that it is easy to miss this last step. Save must be clicked on the Manage Customer screen for the portal password email to be activated and sent to the customer.

Result

The booking contact receives a New User Activation Request email inviting them to create a Customer Booking Portal password and log in. Once logged in they can access a portal short-cut via their topbox profile > More > Customer Portal.
